UAMA is proud to highlight the work of UA students engaging with the work of Bailey Doogan as they think critically about the human body in the history of visual art.
Join students from the course Art and Anatomy, led by Professor Patrick Baliani in U of A’s W.A. Franke Honors College, for a selection of mini-talks highlighting the work of Bailey Doogan. During her life, artist Bailey Doogan visited and spoke with Professor Baliani’s students about her unique ideas and approach to depicting the human body in her work. Professor Baliani and his students are honored to continue this legacy, with students offering new perspectives on Bailey’s work in the exhibition Bailey Doogan: Ways of Seeing.
Professor and playwright Patrick Baliani, MFA teaches Interdisciplinary Studies at the W.A. Franke Honors College. He has produced his original plays, translations, and literary adaptations at The Rogue Theatre as well as nationally and in Canada. He frequently brings his courses to learn in the UAMA galleries. You can also join Professor Baliani and alumna Mireya Borgen for a special tour of Bailey Doogan's work on Saturday, February 28, 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
