Join W.A. Franke Honors College professor Patrick Baliani and alumna Mireya Borgen (MA Literature ‘25) for an interactive tour and discussion of the exhibition Bailey Doogan: Ways of Seeing.

Explore themes and significant periods in Doogan’s artistic life through observation, reflection and conversation. Space is limited; arrive on time to secure your spot.

Professor and playwright Patrick Baliani, MFA, teaches Interdisciplinary Studies at the W.A. Franke Honors College. He has produced original plays, translations and literary adaptations at The Rogue Theatre, as well as nationally and in Canada. He frequently brings his courses to learn in the UAMA galleries. On Thursday, April 2, join us again from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to hear short talks by students in Baliani's course "Art and Anatomy," who will further explore the work of Bailey Doogan.

Mireya Borgen is a W.A. Franke Honors College alumni (BA in English and Political Science, MA in Literature). Mireya is enamored with learning about and teaching visual arts, which has profoundly influenced her decision to continue studying literature as well as her future aspirations to teach in the field. Previously at UAMA, Mireya performed alongside Professor Baliani and student Nicholas Owen in a reading of John Logan’s play “Red” about the life and work of American abstract painter Mark Rothko.
