UAMA Members are invited to tour A Century of Surrealism with the exhibition's curator, Violet Rose Arma, on opening day.
In October 1924, French poet André Breton published the first Surrealist Manifesto, birthing a movement that spurned convention and sparked the imagination. The UAMA exhibition A Century of Surrealism showcases influences and participants in the movement from the mid-1920s to 1980, emphasizing the diffusion of Surrealist ideas and techniques in the American consciousness. Featured artists include Yves Tanguy, Max Ernst, Kay Sage, Dorothea Tanning, Leonora Carrington and Salvador Dalí.
Join us on August 24 for this special introduction to the exhibition! Not yet a UAMA Member? Learn about the benefits.
