Narsiso Martinez's "Brief but Spectacular" Take
We believe in the power of art to spark essential conversations and enhance research at our university and in our community.
As a recent article in Art News proclaims, "At 92 Years Old, Photorealist Painter Audrey Flack is Having a Moment."
Flack, who's known for going against the grain, is the subject of With Darkness Comes Stars — a one-person show at Hollis Taggart Gallery in New York. The exhibition is titled after the artist's new memoir and will feature work from the 1950s to the present.
The UAMA has several works by Flack in its permanent collection, including her 1977 Marilyn (Vanitas), pictured in the article and currently on view at the museum.
