Virtual Art Trivia Happy Hour: Impressionism!
Thursday
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
We believe in the power of art to spark essential conversations and enhance research at our university and in our community.
In April 1874, Paris' Société Anonyme hosted the first-ever exhibition of Impressionism.
It was, objectively speaking, a commercial and critical failure, but the artists who exhibited there were not swayed. One hundred years later, in 1974, the Louvre and Metropolitan Museum of Art held a joint exhibition marking a century of the movement.
During May's Art Trivia Happy Hour, we'll go beyond Monet's Water Lilies and explore some of the most stirring sunrises, inviting landscapes and tender moments captured with those signature dabs of the paintbrush.
As usual, the multiple choice trivia questions will be fun for all attendees and answers will be anonymous. So grab a snack and your beverage of choice, then join us on Zoom for a round that's sure to make an impression!
