Curated from the UAMA collection, Inspired by the LOVERULES exhibition
Over the fall semester, students in Dr. Kate Alexander’s course “HNRS 203H: Art and Borders” were presented with the task to collectively curate an exhibition of works from the UAMA permanent collection that respond to the exhibition, Hank Willis Thomas: LOVERULES.
Through their exploration of themes like love/death, nation/politics and self/other, students found unity between seemingly disparate artworks and emphasized new perspectives that have otherwise been unnoticed.
View their selections and read their interpretations during this limited popup exhibition!
