We believe in the power of art to spark essential conversations and enhance research at our university and in our community.
Please note that this event has already taken place.
Join us in marking one decade of UAMA's Mapping Q program and celebrating the corresponding anniversary exhibition still queer after all these years!
Since 2014, Mapping Q has created safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth to reflect on identity and community through the visual arts. Its annual workshop series traditionally culminates with an exhibition of artworks created by participants, and this year's is extra special. Titled still queer after all these years, the exhibition showcases work by participants from both the present and past.
This evening reception celebrates the youth, teaching artists and community organizations who have directly shaped and supported this program over the years. Browse the exhibition and meet the artists while enjoying light refreshments, music and fun activities at The Art Cart hosted by Handcrafted by Care. Remarks will be given at 6:00p!
This event is free and open to the public. Please register to join us!
