You asked for it, and we have delivered. Mapping Q is back in Fall 2024 with more Zine/RISO printmaking workshops!

This fall, Mapping Q has teamed up with the School of Art's Book Arts & Letterpress Lab and the RISO Club for another awesome workshop series to celebrate the program's 10th Anniversary!

Designed by teaching artist galen smith, the series introduces student participants to the risograph printing process — an art form through which they can express their unique identities and life experiences. The process enables participants to make multiple prints of their art so it can be shared, traded, exhibited and sold, expanding the reach of their creative output. School of Art students will help facilitate workshops and mentor youth through their art-making process.

Registration is now full. Questions or requests for information about future workshops can be directed to Chelsea Farrar. Information for workshop registrants is below!

Mapping Q is a program of the University of Arizona Museum of Art that invites LGBTQ+ youth (ages 13-24) to explore identity through art. We ask: How can we care for ourselves and others as we imagine new ways of being and doing? What does another world look like? What role does art play in imagining, creating, and nurturing the future world?

Special thanks to the Book Art & Letterpress Lab for underwriting Mapping Q, and to the LGBTQ+ Alliance Fund held at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona for their generous support of the program.
