We believe in the power of art to spark essential conversations and enhance research at our university and in our community.
Please note that this event has already taken place.
Join us for this special gallery talk about the UAMA exhibition Pulse: Weavings and Paintings by Marlowe Katoney — the first solo museum exhibition by the artist, featuring approximately 30 weavings drawn from private and public collections and created over the span of fifteen years.
Dr. Anya Montiel — co-curator of the Pulse exhibition, Native American Art Historian and Curator at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian — will speak with Winslow-based artist Marlowe Katoney (Diné) about his weaving practice.
This event is free with the cost of admission to the museum.
