We believe in the power of art to spark essential conversations and enhance research at our university and in our community.
“If a brilliant idea is shared but is inaccessible to visitors, can it still make a resounding impact?”
This is the question Violet Arma, UAMA Curatorial Assistant and Administrative Support, explores in her recent article published in Legacy magazine. Violet demonstrates why inclusion is essential in interpretive and educational spaces, encouraging museums to broaden their reach by acknowledging and embracing the varying ability levels of their patrons.
Violet also developed a list of Tips for Creating Accessible Museums, recently published by the American Alliance of Museums.
