We believe in the power of art to spark essential conversations and enhance research at our university and in our community.
On Nov. 3, the University of Arizona announced a historic fundraising campaign, Fuel Wonder — the largest in university history. Among the campaign’s Presidential Priorities is building a new home for the University of Arizona Museum of Art.
Since the 1950s, UAMA has championed the visual arts from its location near Olive Road, next to the School of Art. As a new museum with a burgeoning collection, the building served us well. Now, with an expanding, world-class collection of nearly 7,000 artworks, it’s time to grow.
Our new state-of-the-art building, located in a highly-visible area of campus, will double our square footprint. Unbridled by the limitations of our current building, we'll expand on our impact of the past seven decades while acting as part of the campus “front porch” and serving as a vital creative hub for the region.
