The University of Arizona Museum of Art and Archive of Visual Arts

Volunteer Docent Program

The UAMA Docent Council is committed to supporting the mission of the Museum by engaging diverse audiences in the community. Through interactive tours and outreach programs, docents demonstrate the relevance of art in daily life and make artwork approachable to people of all ages and backgrounds. As ambassadors of the Museum, it is the docents who introduce the Museum’s collections and exhibitions to the public and inspire the new generations of art lovers. Members of the Docent Council accomplish this by:

  • Leading interactive and engaging tours of the museum and public art for people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Offering tactile tours for the Visually Impaired.
  • Giving interactive Community Art Talks at libraries and senior centers.
  • Providing K-12 students with meaningful arts experiences through the School Artreach program.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2019/2020 program.
