The University of Arizona Museum of Art and Archive of Visual Arts

Tours for the Visually Impaired

The Museum is excited to launch new tours for the visually impaired! Specially trained docents will lead small groups or individuals on a tactile tour experience through various locations in the Museum.

Tours can be requested by  calling Chelsea Farrar, Assistant Curator of Education, at 520-621-9504.

To celebrate the launch of these tours, the Museum has acquired on loan three sculptures by acclaimed artist Michael Naranjo. These sculptures are meant to be touched, and will be a part of the tours for the first year.
The tours are a docent-led initiative, and help to fulfill our vision of making the Museum accessible to as many people and groups as possible. Docents trained with staff from the Southern Arizona Association for the Visually Impaired and University of Arizona College of Education to provide the best experience possible.

The Museum would like to thank Harold K. Reddick Jr. and Michaelyn Testa Reddick for their gracious support of this program.

Thank you to our partner organizations:
