“Having a few rolls of film to develop gives me a good reason to get up in the morning.” — Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol was not only a pioneer of the Pop Art movement but also a prolific picture taker who was rarely without a camera. His photos served as the source material for many of his artworks, as well as documentation of the people, places and objects in his life.
For June's Members Morning, we'll look at a selection of the numerous Warhol images in the UAMA collection, which offer special insight into the artist's everyday life from the 1970s up until his death in 1987. We'll also learn about the photographic process of the "Warhol camera," also known as the Polaroid Big Shot.
Come mingle with fellow members over coffee, pastries and eight centuries of art. Please register below to join us!
Members Morning is a series where the UAMA opens one hour early to Museum Members on the first Saturday of every month and offers exclusive programming. Not yet a UAMA Member? Learn about the benefits.
