U of A Museum Day at UAMA and AVA!
Saturday
12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Join UAMA and its Archive of Visual Arts — two separate locations to explore! — for the University of Arizona's third annual Museum Day, where campus museums and collections open their doors and offer engaging activities and experiences.
Located at 1014 E. 6th Street on the south side of campus, the AVA preserves original ephemera of artists, adding depth to an understanding of their practice. Stop by to tour the space, meet archivist Sara Swayden, and explore special exhibits curated from the archives.
At the museum, view the special exhibition Bailey Doogan: Ways of Seeing before it closes and experience the annual Our Stories: High School Artists exhibition showcasing incredible work by students across Pima County.
From 12-4pm, enjoy free art making and self-guided gallery activities.
From 1-3pm, shop for animal art and vote for your favorite dog or cat at a pop-up sale with artists and friends from ArtWorks, an outreach program of the Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities.
With questions about access or to request any disability-related accommodations at this event — such as ASL interpreting, closed-captioning, wheelchair access, or electronic text, etc. — please contact Visitor & Member Services Lead Myriam Sandoval, 520-626-2087.
