SUBMIT TO PICTURING 2020: A COMMUNITY REFLECTS, A VIRTUAL EXHIBITION ON VIEW SEPTEMBER 26, 2020 THROUGH MARCH 28, 2021 AT UAMA.
The coronavirus pandemic, economic instability, systemic violence against QT+BIPOC, wildfires, and a highly-charged presidential election make 2020 a watershed moment for Tucson and the world. These events highlight vulnerabilities and deep inequities in our community, but they also show us our immense resilience and capacity to dream of something new.
How have you been responding, coping or healing through art during this time? How have your perceptions been altered? How has this year impacted you and your community? What have you determined to be essential during this time? Your submission will be featured in a virtual exhibition with works from the UAMA permanent collection, selected by the curators to reflect themes that emerge from the community.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: AUGUST 24, 2020
