We’re pleased to have Leslie Langbert, Executive Director of the Center for Compassion Studies, join us for our April Members Morning! Leslie, a mindfulness meditation facilitator, will lead us in a mindfulness activity in the galleries. Leslie will be joined by colleague Jeff Schlueter, who will perform a musical piece inspired by Morris Kantor’s Pines and Fog that he composed for the UAMA’s “The Art of Mindfulness” audio guide.
Come mingle with fellow members over coffee, pastries and eight centuries of art. Please register below to join us!
Also, stick around until 10:30 a.m. to join us for an “awe walk” through the galleries focused on the healing and restorative power of color. UArizona’s Innovations in Healthy Aging initiative created the Encounters in Awe Walking workshop series in response to recent neuroscience research that associates positive health benefits with taking short walks while looking for things that inspire awe. Register for the UAMA “awe walk” here.
Members Morning is a series where the UAMA opens one hour early to Museum Members on the first Saturday of every month and offers exclusive programming. Not yet a UAMA Member? Learn about the benefits.
