Making Care invites visitors of all ages to play, explore and create, helping to transform the drop-in space into a temporary studio through active art making.
Art museums play a vital role in the health and wellbeing of our communities by offering quiet spaces to learn, reflect, or experience emotional responses to visual works of art. Early research on UAMA’s own art and wellness program, Mapping Q, has revealed the mental health benefits of making art.
Making Care encourages you to slow down, check in with yourself, extend your time in the galleries, or simply give into the act of play while experimenting with a rotating offering of art materials and museum educator-designed prompts.
While you’re here, we also invite you to recharge using our Art of Mindfulness mobile guide!
