Garden and Harvest Tour | Manzo + Mission Garden

November 3, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In conjunction with the The Art of Food, we invite you to celebrate the rich and delicious food heritage of Tucson – the first UNESCO City of Gastronomy in the U.S. – by taking an intimate look at a few organizations that help to cultivate it.

Join us for a fantastic tour of both Escuela Manzo and Mission Gardens, with a picnic lunch inspired by these local treasures!

Recognized as “The Greenest Elementary School on the Planet,” Escuela Manzo embraces hands-on ecological learning with an on-site garden, greenhouse and animal habitat. Mission Garden is a living agricultural museum of Sonoran Desert-adapted heritage fruit trees, traditional local heirloom crops and edible native plants located at the foot of Sentinel Peak at the site of the Indigenous village of S-cuk Son.

Garden-goers will meet at UAMA, where transportation will be provided. Comfortable attire and walking shoes are highly encouraged. Payment will be taken on site the day of the tour. Click HERE for more details and to register!
