Featuring a selection of diverse paintings and works on paper held in the UAMA permanent collections, Abstract: Variations mines the notion of the “abstract” as flexible, fabulously variable, and open to boundless interpretation. Examples in the exhibition span a range of styles and approaches, from works that suggest the inspiration of the visible world to those that exult in the unadulterated power of form and color.
