Frances O’Brien Collection

img027Artist Frances O’Brien was born in Rochester, New York. She attended Vassar College, the Corcoran Art School, and the Art Students League.  O’Brien was best known for her work creating portraits for magazine covers, including The Saturday Review. Her work includes the likeness of Dwight D. Eisenhower, Winston S. Churchill, Eleanor Roosevelt, Georgia O’Keeffe, Salvador Dalí, and many others. O’Brien’s focus shifted to paintings related to cosmology and metaphysics later in her career.
