Hasan Elanhi Named Dean of Arizona Arts

A Warm Welcome to Hasan Elahi

Elahi is set to serve over 1,600 art students at the University of Arizona as their new dean! 

Elahi has an impressive list of experience as an artist and educator, with his pieces being shown internationally such as: the Venice Biennale, and the Sundance Film Festival. He previously worked at Wayne State University in Detroit as the Dean of the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts.

“Arizona Arts already has momentum, both on campus and in the community,” Elahi said. “I’m excited to support the work already underway and explore new ways to help students, faculty, and artists thrive together.”

The previously dean, Andrew Schultz, is set to return back to faculty in 2026.
