Joseph Scheer's Moths: Flight, Light and Desire
Joseph Scheer Manduca rustica (sphinx), 2006
Joseph Scheer's richly saturated images and large-scale prints present
moths as mysteriously beautiful and striking. The artist creates an
immersive environment that invites viewers to look at these nocturnal
creatures in a different light. The examples in this exhibition were
collected during the moonless nights of late summer 2004 and 2005, and
represent an astonishing range of moths, both common and rare.
