The city of Rome has been viewed in many ways over time. This sweeping exhibition, a collaboration between the UAMA and Professor Cynthia White of the UA Classics Department, examines Rome through different lenses including landscape views of the ancient city, myths and allegory, and the Grand Tour. Related programming includes a teacher workshop, an inter-disciplinary symposium, and an evening of travel writing and poetry at the University of Arizona Poetry Center. You’ve never seen Rome like this!

“Rome and Its Receptions”
Location: Student Union Kiva Auditorium, University of Arizona
September 25, 9-1pm This four hour workshop is proudly developed in collaboration with the UA Poetry Center. Our activities will be directly connected to the exhibition, “Rome: Legacy of an Eternal City”, which examines how the site of Rome was an artistic inspiration for artists for centuries. This workshop is interdisciplinary, looking to ekphrastic and the epistolary poetry as one way students can respond to the exhibition or works of art. Light snacks and a certificate of participation will be provided.
