April 16th – August 14th, 2005
This selection of 20th century works from the UA Museum of Art’s collection reveals the artists’ engagement with capturing likeness and individuality of others as well as themselves. While the majority of the works in this exhibit adhere to the criterion of a portrait as some sort of a likeness of a particular person, some artists attempt experimental portraits of an abstract or symbolic nature. Featured artists include Andreas S. Andersen, Luis Cruz Azaceta, and Yasuo Kuniyoshi.
