The University of Arizona Museum of Art and Archive of Visual Arts

About the Archives

The Archive of Visual Arts (AVA) is a research arm of the University of Arizona Museum of Art.  The archives collects, preserves and provides access to the original papers of artists.  The role of the AVA is to support the study of creativity and document the motivations that inspire individual artists to do their best work.

The archive seeks to collect the types of material and papers that document and contribute to the success of an individual artist. These materials include diaries, business and personal correspondences, financial planning documents, contracts, wills, technical data, slides, photos, videos, and other ephemera.

To inquire about a collection or to make an appointment, contact Jill McCleary at jillmccleary@email.arizona.edu or at (520) 623-1124.

We are located on the south end of the University of Arizona Campus.  Our address is:
